The focus of M.Phil research is to empower the significance of research culture and scientific knowledge in areas including, gender, education, health, clinical psychology, developmental psychopathology, developmental psychology, humanistic and transpersonal psychology, psychometry, social and interpersonal psychology and industrial psychology. The M.Phil program consists of 50 credit hours; course work of 24 credit hours and a thesis equivalent to 26 credit hours. To better equip psychology students with scientific research knowledge and expertise certain initiatives have been recently introduced, to enhance and improve the quality and timely completion of the research. These initiatives include:
Monitoring of Research
Research Progress Sheet (MRPS)
M.Phil Progress Sheet is specifically
designed to monitor and evaluate each students progress systematically
in each semester. The M.Phil Progress Sheet provides each
student some specific benchmarks of research to be completed
in each semester of M.Phil Program.
Interactive Discussions
Research Group Meeting (RGM)
To have intecative discussions on research
related issues a discussion as well interest group called
Research Group has been established. The Research Group
is comprised of all NIP research students of M.Phil and Ph.D.
The Research Group Meeting is held once in a month usually
the first Saturday of the month The purpose of this Research
Group is to provide a forum for higher level research scholars;
where they can learn by discussing research related problems,
theoretical issues, critical reviews of articles, paper writing,
sharing practical experiences of senior members and the brain
storming on current research issues. This research group forum
provides an excellent opportunity to all research students
to remain in contact with their respective supervisors and
get updated with latest research activities and trends and
get instant solutions of research related issues. The attendance
is mandatory and recorded in Research Progress Sheet.
Research Seminars
Research students at NIP are provided an opportunity to communicate their research plans in the form of Seminar Presentations. In this manner students learn how to communicate and present their researches, and constructive feed back is instantly provided to the students by faculty members or co-researchers.
Research Advisory Committee
Research Advisory Committee is specially constituted to facilitate students at any time in the process of their research; this committee is comprised of members who have sound professional experience of researches who provide valuable guidance and recommendations to the research students in order to ensure smooth progress of the research.
Research Coordinators
